Introduction

Hi,

This is my 1st attempt at setting up a blog.  It's a learn as I go process so please bear with me as I get things set up.

As the 1st part of the blog name indicates I'm an atheist so I'll usually be blogging about atheist related subjects.

The 2nd part of the blog name I won't explain as of right now.  So it'll remain a mystery until I decide to blog about.  Well that is unless you're 'ace', then you know what it means.

I'm not a writer by any stretch of the imagination so please don't comment on my writings unless it's constructive criticism.

Finally, I'm retired so this blog is one of my distractions.  So don't be surprised if it isn't updated frequently or comments aren't moderated quickly.

Thanks

Ace

Back in my "Introduction" blog I stated: The 2nd part of the blog name I won't explain as of right now.  So it'll remain a mystery until I decide to blog about.  Well that is unless you're 'ace', then you know what it means.
Well I decided now is the time.

'Ace' is the 2nd part of this blog's name and is a term used by people who are asexual.  An asexual person does not experience sexual attraction.  A lot of people believe that's not possible, that there must be something wrong with you and you need to get 'fixed'.  Some of the typical reasons people come up with are:
  • Sexually abused as a child (nope)
  • You've been raped (nope)
  • Some kind of problem with hormones (nope)
  • Had a really bad experience in a relationship (nope)
  • You're gay (nope)
  • You haven't met the right person (Haven't met her yet and I'm in my late 50s)
The list goes on and my answers are no, no, no, etc.  It's just not there.

Now you probably are thinking that you've never known an asexual.  I think you probably have but didn't know it.  We tend to stay under the radar.  Actually, a lot of asexuals didn't even realize they're asexual, myself included.  I didn't realize I was asexual until I came across the AVEN web-site, before that I thought I was a little messed up.  Even after I found AVEN it took awhile for it to sink in.  It was when I started reading posts in the forums.  There were posts that I read that I could have written word for word.  That's when it sank it.

There are numerous web-sites for asexuals.  The largest one is AVEN (Asexual Visibility and Education Network).  If you want to learn more about human asexuality click on the link below.

I have to laugh when Ray Comfort says that people are atheists because of the pleasure of guilt-free sexual sin.  I'd like to see him explain atheists that are also asexual, like myself.
